In addition to being an industry leader in non-medical, in-home care, Care from the Heart also strives to be a resource for people trying to navigate the challenges that can come with caring for seniors. With over 29 years in the business of caring for seniors, we have established a considerable knowledge base of resources that we want to share with you.

Keep in mind that Care from the Heart does not believe in, nor participate in, reciprocal referral agreements. Everyone listed on this page is listed because we believe they can be an asset to you, plain and simple.


AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF RETIRED PERSONS (AARP) – AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization with a membership that helps people age 50 and over have independence, choice and control in ways that are beneficial and affordable to them and society as a whole, ways that help people 50 and over improve their lives. Since 1958, AARP has been leading a revolution in the way people view and live life.


ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES – Every year in Arizona, APS receives thousands of reports alleging that a vulnerable adult is the victim of neglect, abuse or exploitation. APS helps intervene in these situations to protect these vulnerable adults.


ALZHEMER’S ASSOCIATION (AZ CHAPTER) – To eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.


AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY – Together with our millions of supporters, the American Cancer Society (ACS) saves lives and creates a world with less cancer and more birthdays by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back.


AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION – Our mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. That single purpose drives all we do. The need for our work is beyond question.


AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION – The American Lung Association in Arizona offers practical help to people living with asthma, emphysema and other lung diseases. We also confront lung disease at the root level, educating kids about the dangers of smoking, pushing for more smoke-free workplaces and even working to reduce air pollution.


AMERICAN RED CROSS AZ CHAPTER – The Red Cross responds to natural and man made disasters, both locally and nationwide, ensuring displaced people have shelter and food. They also provide emergency training, such as CPR/First Aid.


AREA AGENCY ON AGING – As a private non-profit organization, the Area Agency on Aging Region One, advocates, plans, coordinates, develops and delivers services for adults aged 60 years and older, persons of any age with HIV/AIDS, adults aged 18 years and older with disabilities and long-term care needs, and family caregivers.


ARIZONA ATTORNEY GENERAL ELDER AFFAIRS – By 2020 it’s estimated that one in four Arizonans will be over 60. Unfortunately, seniors and their money are often seen by scammers as easy targets. The Attorney General’s Office works to protect Arizona’s seniors by providing information about scams and fraud, taking legal action against those who prey on seniors and supporting legislation to toughen penalties against those who commit crimes against seniors.


ARIZONA BRAILLE & TALKING BOOK LIBRARY – To provide books, magazines and other library resources in all alternative formats for all Arizona residents whose visual or physical disabilities prevent the use of conventional print materials.


ARIZONA CENTER FOR THE BLIND & VISUALLY IMPAIRED (ACBVI) – Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ACBVI) has been providing services for individuals since 1947. ACBVI is committed to “enhancing the quality of life for people who are blind or otherwise visually impaired.


ARIZONA COMMISSION FOR THE DEAF AND THE HEARING IMPAIRED (ACDHH) – ACDHH was established in 1977 to improve the quality of life for Deaf and Hard of Hearing residents. ACDHH serves as a statewide information referral center for issues related to people with hearing loss.


ARIZONA DEPT. OF HEALTH SERVICES (AZDHS) – The Arizona Department of Health Services promotes and protects the health of Arizona’s children and adults. Its mission is to set the standard for personal and community health through direct care, science, public policy, and leadership.


ARIZONA KIDNEY FOUNDATION – The National Kidney Foundation of Arizona is the major voluntary health agency in Arizona seeking solutions for kidney and urinary tract diseases through education, prevention and treatment.


ARIZONA LONG TERM CARE SYSTEM (ALTCS) – Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is Arizona’s Medicaid agency that offers health care programs to serve Arizona residents. Individuals must meet certain income and other requirements to obtain services.


AZ OFFICE FOR AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES (AOAD) – The State of Arizona endeavors to assure equality of opportunity, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency for individuals with disabilities. AOAD is leading the way. The Arizona Office for Americans with Disabilities (AOAD) will be recognized as a leader in providing strong and consistent guidance to eliminate discrimination against individuals with disabilities.


ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION – The Arthritis Foundation offers information and tools to help people live a better life with arthritis.  Whether it’s advice from medical experts to specialized arthritis self-management or exercise classes, the Arthritis Foundation has your solution.


BANNER BOSWELL MEDICAL CENTER – Banner Boswell has been providing excellent patient care with compassion, integrity and respect to our neighbors in the northwest area of metropolitan Phoenix since 1970.


CONSUMER SAFETY.org -ConsumerSafety.org strives to make information about recalls and safety-related news about drugs, medical devices, food, and consumer products accessible to everyone in a transparent, easily understandable way.


BANNER DEL E. WEBB MEDICAL CENTER – Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center opened its doors in 1988 and has been growing ever since to meet the health care needs of the communities in the northwest area of metropolitan Phoenix.

DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS – The DAV was founded in 1920 by disabled veterans returning from World War I to represent their unique interests. In 1932, the DAV was congressionally chartered as the official voice of the nation’s wartime disabled veterans.


HELPING HANDS FOUNDATION – The Sun City West Foundation’s Helping Hands recommends instead of buying and storing medical aids such as walkers, wheelchairs, bath chairs, borrow the items from Helping Hands.


ARROWHEAD HOSPITAL – Since opening our doors in October of 1988, Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale has been the recipient of several
national recognitions including being named a “Top 100 Hospital” by Thompson Reuters.


JEWISH FAMILY & CHILDREN’S SERVICE (JFCS) – We are a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that strengthens the community by providing quality behavioral health and social services to children, families and adults of all ages and faiths throughout Maricopa County, in accordance with a Jewish value system that cares about all humanity.


CATHOLIC CENTER OUTREACH – The Catholic Outreach Center is a well-established program of the Foundation for Senior Living. Its caring professionals strive to help people to maintain their independence and remain where they are happiest, in their own homes.


FOUNDATION FOR SENIOR LIVING – The Foundation for Senior Living is devoted to preserving dignity and promoting quality of life for all seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers. We offer the widest variety of services and maintain the highest standards of excellence.


MEALS ON WHEELS – 623-974-9430 – Meal delivery service for residents in Sun City and Youngtown, ensuring that people who may be unable to leave the house are able to have nutritional meals with convenience.

MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF AZ (MHAAZ) – Serving Arizona since 1954, Mental Health America of Arizona (MHAAZ) is the state’s oldest and most respected organization dedicated to all aspects of mental health, illness and behavioral health disorders.


MESOTHELIOMA CANCER ALLIANCE – The Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance is an online educational and support resource for cancer patients and caregivers. We are dedicated to providing answers to patients. We have a range of information on our site that talks about the cancer itself, the types of treatment that is expected, and preventative measures.


MUHAMMAD ALI PARKINSONS CENTER (MAPC) – The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center (MAPC) and Movement Disorders Clinic is a National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence, and a wonderful resource for people with Parkinson’s and their families. The Center was established in 1997 by Muhammad Ali, Jimmy Walker, a Phoenix philanthropist, and Dr. Abraham Lieberman.


POISON CONTROL CENTER – The Banner Good Samaritan Poison and Drug Information Center is a free 24-hour hotline that serves the state of Arizona.


SUN CITY WEST PROPERTY OWNERS & RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION (PORA) – PORA is a non-profit organization serving the interests of the unincorporated community of Sun City West. All membership and business service fees support PORA’s efforts in being the Voice of Good Government in Sun City West.


SUN CITY HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION – The source for any property related concerns, neighborhood issues, suggestions and resources in the Sun City Area.


SUN CITIES INDEPENDENT NEWSPAPER – Readers have made the Independent the most-popular newspaper in community by submitting important news to fill our inside pages. As the “best read paper in the community,” it is well-respected for its award winning local news coverage since 1960.

MARICOPA COUNTY SHERIFF’S POSSE – With over fifty different Posses, there are many ways in which the residents of Maricopa County are helping support their local Officers. From assisting with animal cruelty to searching for lost hikers, these volunteers do it all.
